welcome to your golf course experience

Soft rolling greens, golden light filtering through tall trees, and the open feeling of home — our local golf courses make a beautiful backdrop for timeless, natural portraits. Whether we’re capturing your growing family, your senior, your love story, or your pregnancy glow, this location offers a relaxed, elegant setting with a clean, classic look.

This page will walk you through what to expect, what to bring, and how to prepare for your session here, along with session-specific guidance for each type of shoot.

Getting There

What to Expect at the Golf Course

➤ We’ll photograph during golden hour — typically the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, when the light is soft and warm.

➤ Please arrive on time; the best light fades quickly.

Restrooms are limited, so plan accordingly before arriving.

➤ Golf courses often remain partially open to players — we’ll work around traffic and carts respectfully.

➤ Bring comfortable shoes for walking between photo spots (you can swap to dress shoes for photos).

➤ Expect light breezes, a few bugs in summer, and occasional dew on the grass if it’s early or humid.

➤ Avoid driving on or walking across greens unless I guide you there — the staff appreciates it!

Family Session

The golf course is one of my favorite spots for family sessions — wide open greens, soft rolling hills, and glowing light that brings everything to life. It’s relaxed, open, and perfect for letting kids move, explore, and just be themselves while we capture those genuine in-between moments.

These sessions are meant to feel natural — not stiff, not forced. Think of it as an evening out together where I happen to have my camera along. I’ll guide you through gentle direction, keep the energy light, and make sure we capture both the timeless portraits and the spontaneous moments that make your family unique.

What to Expect

  • Every family has its own rhythm. The goal isn’t to make everyone stand still and smile perfectly — it’s to capture connection, laughter, and love exactly as it is right now.

    Here’s what helps most:

    • Let kids be kids. It’s okay if they’re silly, shy, or wiggly — that’s all part of the magic.

    • Avoid giving lots of directions or asking them to “smile.” I’ll handle it naturally.

    • Focus on being together — tickle, snuggle, laugh, and play. Those moments photograph beautifully.

    • Don’t stress over perfection. The best images are the ones that feel real.

When parents stay calm and let me take the lead, kids relax and open up — and that’s when the magic happens.

  • You’ll receive a short questionnaire before we shoot. This helps me understand your family’s personalities, any must-have shots, and how to best approach your kids’ comfort and energy levels. Want to get a jump on the questionnaire?

    FAMILY SESSION QUESTIONNAIRE

  • We’ll meet about an hour and a half before sunset (your session time can be found on your session agreement you signed), when the light is soft and flattering. Sessions typically last 15–60 minutes (depending on the package you selected) — long enough to capture everything but short enough to keep little ones engaged.

  • Your family session doesn’t end when the camera turns off — it’s just the beginning of bringing your story to life.
Here’s what you can expect after your session with me:

    1. Image Preview

Within 1–2 weeks, you’ll receive a small sneak peek — a few of my favorite images from your session — so you can relive a bit of that magic right away.

    2. Gallery Viewing + Ordering Appointment

Once your gallery is ready, we’ll schedule your in person reveal. During this time, I’ll walk you through your images and help you select the perfect pieces for your home — from heirloom albums to wall art and fine art prints.

This is where your story truly comes to life — through tangible artwork that you can hold, display, and cherish for generations. Reveals can be done in person or via video call (convenience is key).

    3. Prints, Albums + Wall Art

Each product I offer is crafted with longevity and quality in mind.

    • Albums are designed to tell your story beautifully and are custom-made to fit your style.

    • Wall art is available in a range of finishes and sizes to complement your home decor.

    • Fine art prints are printed on museum-grade paper, ensuring your images look timeless and elegant for years to come.

If you’re not sure what’s best for your space, I’ll happily guide you through your options during your reveal/ordering appointment.

    4. Digital Files

Your digital images will be delivered in high-resolution, ready for printing and sharing. You’ll receive them via private online gallery, along with easy instructions for safe storage once you have completed your ordering session.

    5. Keepsake + Next Steps

After your order is placed, I’ll take care of everything from retouching and printing to packaging and delivery.
Your finished artwork will be ready for pickup or shipped directly to your home within 1-2 weeks after your ordering session.

  • Simple, coordinated, and timeless always wins.
Here’s what photographs beautifully on the greens:

    • Neutral or earth-tone palettes — creams, tans, muted blues, sage, dusty pinks, soft browns.

    • Avoid bright neon colors, logos, and busy patterns.

    • Choose relaxed but elevated pieces: flowy dresses, button-ups, chinos, linen tops, simple textures.

    • Barefoot moments or simple sandals look lovely for kids.

    • Coordinate, don’t match — aim for tones that complement each other instead of identical outfits.

If you’re unsure, lay everyone’s outfits out together and snap a photo — text it to me and I’ll happily give feedback.

    FAMILY SESSION STYLE GUIDE

    • Arrive a few minutes early so no one feels rushed. Light does not wait for anyone so arriving timely is crucial to make sure we have the right time with the light before it dips behind the mountain.

    • Bring water, wipes, and a small snack for kids (something clean like gummies or puffs).

    • Avoid saying “smile” — I’ll get natural expressions through play and prompts.

    • Expect a little walking, sitting on the grass, or chasing kids in golden light.

    • Parents: wear something you can move and interact comfortably in — not something you’ll stress over getting a bit of grass on.

If you relax and enjoy your family, your photos will reflect that energy.

  • Come as you are, trust the process, and love on your people.
Family sessions aren’t about perfection — they’re about connection, chaos, laughter, and love.

When you look back years from now, I want you to feel exactly what you felt in this season of life.

Plan for Sun

The golf course has trees but the shaded areas are few and far between. Sunglasses, hats, and sun protection are highly recommended unless we’re lucky enough to have an overcast day.

Plan for the Weather

Always better to be prepared! Our local weather is extremely unpredictable. Consider layers and hairstyle options accordingly. Rain is rare, but if it occurs, we’ll continue shooting unless conditions are unsafe for you, me, or my equipment.

Toana Vista Golf Course

When shooting at the golf course I will typically either meet you at the front or the back side. If we meet at the front the directions are listed here.

If we meet at the back you will head over to the Fairway View Drive and drive to the dead end. We park in this dirt area and walk to the location from there.
